I believe that most of the women, if not all of them, try in some ways to apply makeup in a proper way on their everyday basis. Either you enjoy it or not it’s surely a hustle to achieve the perfect results, especially when trying to combine it with your skin needs. I wouldn’t describe myself as a makeup artist but I enjoy watching Youtube videos and reading articles about applying makeup and different product reviews. Therefore, I am here to share with you some basic things that I learnt throughout the years and they are definitely important for having the perfect result.
Some of you may apply primer before the foundation and some of you may not. It is not a lie that the primer helps the foundation to stay for a longer time and give a better finish to the application, as long as you use it in the right way. The primer should contain the same basic elements that your foundation has in order to work in a better way. For example, if your foundation is oil based then your primer should be so as well. That is the main reason why when a company releases a new line of foundation creates a primer for it as well.
THE GEL EYELINER
If you prefer wearing a gel eyeliner, meaning the one that is in the jar and you can apply it with a little brush then you have to be aware of this tip. Dip your brush into water, shake away all the excess and then dip into the eyeliner jar. Having a wet brush makes the application smoother and sleeker, giving you a more defined and smooth line – especially if you are aiming for a cat eye.
MASCARA ON THE LEEDS
I know that the moment I apply mascara I will urgently need to sneeze with passion. Therefore – as all of you know – black dots are all over the leeds and under eye area. If you have applied it after having completed most of your makeup then you know it is a struggle to remove the black spots without ruining your well blended shadows or highlighted under eyes. A smart tip is to take a q tip, wet it with makeup remover and roll it carefully onto this spots. A small amount of makeup will be removed but there is no damage that it can’t be fixed.
SHADOW FOR BROWS
Most of you will also use a pencil or shadow to fill in your brows. It is quite difficult to figure out the right colour, resulting to making your eyebrows seem extra fake or bushy. A quick tip to have in mind when choosing your shadow, is to buy a shade lighter than your natural brows. This way you will avoid being to bushy or fake. Also, if you have little or no brows then you should always choose the right shade according to your hair colour. Typically our natural brows are a tone darker than our hair so this could help you if you have natural coloured hair (e.g. black, brown, red, blonde).
These tips have helped me a lot into applying my makeup in a more easy and efficient way. You always want to apply the basic rules according to your needs and fits, every face, skin and person is not the same and a product that might fit me perfectly might be completely irrelevant for you.
